Mitsubishi Fuso Service in NJ: Parts and Support for Fuso Owners
If you run a Mitsubishi Fuso FE or FG cabover, you’ve probably asked two questions lately: where can I get it serviced, and is Fuso still around? For Mitsubishi Fuso service in NJ, Schwartz Truck Center’s service department in Shrewsbury provides Fuso service with factory-certified technicians, and our parts department supplies Fuso parts alongside Hino and other makes.
This guide is for Fuso owners in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut, whether the truck belongs to a landscaper, a florist, a plumber or a municipal department. It explains where Fuso stands in the US as of November 2026, what that means for your truck today and how to plan the next few years.
Where Fuso stands in the US
In May 2020, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America (MFTA) announced it was ending new-truck sales in the US and Canada and moving to a service-focused business. MFTA said it would continue parts, service and warranty support until 2028, and that its dealers could transition to parts and service locations. Its headquarters, parts distribution and training stayed in Logan Township, New Jersey.
We haven’t found a public update that changes or extends the 2028 date, and we won’t guess what happens after it. If that timeline matters to your plans, ask our parts and service team about your specific model.
Since April 1, 2026, Hino and Mitsubishi Fuso have both been subsidiaries of a holding company called ARCHION. Both brands keep their names. Nothing public that we’ve found says the new holding company changes US support for Fuso owners.
What that means for your Fuso truck today
Your truck still needs the same things it did before 2020: scheduled maintenance, the right parts and technicians who know the platform. A Fuso that’s maintained on schedule can keep doing its job; the questions are about planning, not panic.
- Maintenance: keep following the service schedule in your owner’s manual
- Parts: order by VIN so you get the right part for your truck
- Warranty and recalls: if you think a repair might be covered, ask us to check before the work starts
- Records: keep your service history, which matters when you sell or trade the truck

We won’t list Fuso-specific intervals here; your owner’s manual and our service advisors are the right sources for your truck. These general items are worth keeping on the calendar for any working cabover. Every service visit also includes our free multi-point inspection of brakes, tires, fluids, belts, hoses, suspension and lights.
- Preventive maintenance on schedule, using PM-A, PM-B and PM-C style intervals
- Brakes, tires and suspension, especially on trucks that run loaded every day
- Cooling system, belts and hoses
- Lights, wiring and body electrical, including liftgates
- Rust on frame rails and body mounts after salt season
- The annual DOT inspection, plus NJ diesel emissions testing if your truck’s rating requires it
Planning ahead: keep, refurbish or replace
There’s no single right answer. A well-maintained Fuso doing the job you need may be worth keeping and refurbishing. Rising repair bills, more downtime, or work that has outgrown the truck point toward replacement. Our guide to when to replace a work truck lays out a simple way to compare the two.
If you do replace it, one difference matters to many Fuso owners: the Hino L Series is a conventional-cab truck, not a cabover. Fuso FE and FG trucks are cabovers, and some owners value that layout for getting around tight job sites and streets. Compare the Hino L6 and L7 with that in mind, or ask our sales team about used cabover trucks, including used Fuso units.

If you decide to move on, Schwartz Truck Center buys commercial trucks. Offers depend on condition, mileage or hours, maintenance records, body and equipment, title status and current demand for that class of truck.
Gather service records, the title or lien payoff details, and photos of the body and equipment. If you’re replacing the truck, we can look at the buy and your next purchase together so you aren’t handling two separate deals.
